KEN PALMEN, MBA and CES®
I am a business advisor who has spent over 25 years as both a business owner and small business executive. I’ve experienced firsthand how incredibly challenging and rewarding a career in this space can be, and I’m energized to assist other entrepreneurs who have traveled this path and are ready to explore transitioning to the next step in their lives. I am committed to listening intently and maintaining optimism in all that I do.
I have gained a wide variety of experience over the course of my career, with the common thread of small business involvement. I served as an executive team member for three metro Denver-based companies (including 12 years in my family’s business); co-founded, grew and sold a successful start-up that provided Qualified Intermediary services for Section 1031 Like-Kind Exchanges; and stayed on with the acquiring firm while transitioning my focus to business brokerage. As a small business owner and decision maker, I’ve worn many hats while helping companies in several industries thrive: local manufacturing, sporting goods, footwear and apparel, and real estate.
I hold a BS in Economics and a BA in German from Arizona State University, an MBA from Regis University, and a Certified Exchange Specialist® designation for 1031 Exchanges. I was born and raised in Colorado Springs and now live in Lafayette with my wife and the family dog, Nellie.
